Guided lessons in art and faith for children
For many years, I taught art to children. I co-founded the Art Moms and Dads program in the Boise School District, writing the curriculum and teaching in K-6 grade classes, with the help of numerous dedicated volunteers.
For twelve years, I had the privilege and delight of teaching art to my granddaughters and my adult son. I've taught community art programs. Additionally, I've been a Sunday School teacher and Superintendent, and have served on staff and as a volunteer at many churches.
A recent conversation connected my art, faith and teaching background in this new direction: Growing in Grace, guided lessons in art and faith for children.
Each lesson will feature an art concept and a Bible reference/story, along with a hands-on art activity. Each lesson starts with a question, to engage your child and help them think about the world around them.
I will post lessons on this page, as I create them. They are all free to download, use with your own children and share with others. - - Annette
Soli Deo gloria
The St. Michael's Alphabet is a series of paintings I created in response to a ministry at the church. We were supporting pregnant women through an incentive program encouraging them to make healthy choices. The paintings lined the walls, allowing participants to read a verse and enjoy the art.
Growing in Grace provides a wonderful opportunity to offer these paintings again as an alphabet for young children.
